Ghostbusters Actor ID'd As UWS Sucker Punch Victim: Video

Multiple news sources have identified actor Rick Moranis as the man who got sucker punched Friday morning on the Upper West Side.

UPPER WEST SIDE, NY — Actor Rick Moranis was reportedly randomly punched in the face while walking down a street on the Upper West Side, according to the New York Post and ABC.

The sucker punch took place Thursday morning as Moranis was walking south on Central Park West near West 70th Street, police said. The attacker then fled northbound on the avenue, police added.

The 67-year-old actor, best known for his roles in "Honey, I Shrunk the Kids" and "Ghostbusters," suffered injuries to his head, back, and right hip and took himself to a hospital for treatment, according to police.

Police released a video of the attack on Friday.

Multiple fellow actors have taken to Twitter in shock of the unprovoked incident, including Chris Evans.

Police did not immediately confirm Patch's request to confirm the victim's identity.
