Bronx Man Charged In Double UWS Stabbing, Cops Say
A 22-year-old has been charged with murder in the double stabbing at the Douglass Houses. Police say the investigation is still active.
UPPER WEST SIDE, MANHATTAN — A 22-year-old from the Bronx has been charged with murder in the fatal double stabbing in the Douglass Houses, though cops say the investigation is not yet over.
Tayvius Lewis, who lives on East 227th Street, was arrested early Thursday morning in connection to the May 28 homicide, which left Dominic Barrera and Octavio Figueroa with multiple stab wounds in an apartment building hallway.
Lewis was charged with murder and criminal possession of a weapon, police said.

They did not immediately give details about whether Lewis was among the two men they had been searching for to question about the murder.
Barrera and Figueroa were found with multiple stab wounds just after 8:30 p.m. in a third-floor hallway at 868 Amsterdam Ave., a building in the New York City Housing Authority's Frederick Douglass Houses.

Barrera, 21, was previously said to be a teenager, but police later confirmed his age. He is known as Domo, family told the West Side Rag. Figueroa, 36, goes by Mousy.
Figueroa lived in the building where the two were found and Barrera in a building a few blocks away, records show.
Both of the men were rushed to Mount Sinai Morningside Hospital, where they were pronounced dead.
Police said Thursday that the investigation is active and ongoing.
