Girl Scout Cookie Market Cornered By Upper West Sider Who Sold More Than 2,500 Boxes

The 11-year-old sold more than 2,500 boxes of Girl Scout cookies. See how she did it.

UPPER WEST SIDE, NY — One enterprising Upper West Sider has cornered the Girl Scout cookie market.

Diana Zorek, 11, sold 2,537 boxes of the baked goods this year, earning top honors as the best cookie seller in Greater New York, amNew York reported. Zorel, a student at PS 9, employed created sales strategies such as using online ordering, marketing to college students and selling to hungry people in long lines.

Zorek's sales pitches worked so well she became a nation-wide seller, amNew York reported.

"We got orders from people in Michigan, Minnesota, California – all over," she told the newspaper.

For her efforts, Zorek won a MacBook Air and was invited to the Girls Scouts' cookie executive committee to develop sales practices and mentor other scouts, amNew York Reported.
