Lincoln Center Unveils TKTS Booth Pop-Up Location on Upper West Side

Upper West Siders will have a new spot to pick up discounted theater tickets close to home.

UPPER WEST SIDE, NY — Picking up theater tickets is about to get much easier for Upper West Siders. Lincoln Center unveiled on Tuesday a pop-up TKTS booth at its David Rubenstein Atrium as a line of prospective theatergoers waited to get their hands on discounted show tickets.

The new booth is a results of a partnership between Lincoln Center and the Theatre Development Fund, a group that operates the booths, according to a press release.

“We’re thrilled to have the opportunity to serve Lincoln Center’s constituents and residents of the surrounding neighborhoods,” said TDF Executive Director Victoria Bailey in a press release. “Having another TKTS location to serve theatergoers on a budget is a win-win for the NYC theater industry as well as the folks who would not be able to attend if it weren’t for the same-day TKTS discounts.”

The new pop-up booth will be located in the David Rubenstein Atrium's Zucker Box Office for three months and will be open Tuesdays through Saturdays from noon to 7 p.m. The pop-up booth will operate much like other TKTS booths at Times Square, the South Street Seaport and Downtown Brooklyn. People will be able to purchase same-day tickets for shows off and on broadway at the booth at discounted rates up to 50 percent.

“Expanding access to the arts is very important to Lincoln Center,” said Tom Dunn, senior director of concert halls and operations for Lincoln Center, in a press release. “Partnering with TKTS for this new pop-up residency will give more people the opportunity to experience New York City’s bounty of cultural offerings.”
