Neon Sign Above Mitchell's Wines & Liquors Reappears

The sign was taken down earlier in June for renovations.

UPPER WEST SIDE, NY — A fixture has returned to the Upper West Side.

The neon sign above Mitchell's Wines & Liquors, which has served for decades as a beacon for Upper West Siders in need of booze, is once again prominently displayed atop the storefront, reported the West Side Rag. The sign had been taken down earlier in June during a renovation project, the Rag reported.

The sign was first installed in the 1940s, reported New York Neon Blog.
