New Gastropub Opening On The Upper West Side, Owners Say
The owners plan to serve food until 3 a.m. to cater to late-night workers in the service industry, owners told the local Community Board.

UPPER WEST SIDE, NY — A new gastropub is on tap for West 72nd Street, owners told the local Community Board this week.
The yet-to-be-named eatery is slated to open at 174 W. 72nd St., between Columbus and Amsterdam avenues, by the year's end, said owners at the Business at CB7's Business & Consumer Issues Committee meeting Wednesday.
"We see a lot of demand for a kitchen as an alternative to fast food," said co-owner Carmel Galvin. "We're really looking forward to moving into the neighborhood."

Co-owner Michael Nash told the board he'd like to stay open until 3 a.m. so he can provide good food to people who work late.
"We would like to cater to people getting off of work, getting off the train, looking for a good bite to eat," Nash said.

The space, formerly housing two Irish pubs called Donohue’s and then P.D. O’Hurley’s, has been vacant for a decade.
But four co-owners, — among them Nash and Galvin, who have been in the restaurant business for decades and run the bars Faces & Names and Rumors in Midtown—are ready to "light up that corner," Nash said at the meeting.
The duo said they want to build something that will bring more people into the neighborhood while also serving those who live and work there.
West Side Rag was the first to report the news of the restaurant's opening.
