New York Philharmonic to Perform Live Soundtrack During Screenings of 'West Side Story,' 'Manhattan'
The orchestra is set to play the soundtrack for hits like "Maria" and "I Feel Pretty" as they are performed on-screen.

UPPER WEST SIDE, NY — Movies are great, and world renowned orchestras are great too. In September, Upper West Siders will have the chance to experience both at the same time.
The New York Philharmonic will be performing live during three screenings of "West Side Story" and two screenings of Woody Allen's "Manhattan" in September. During the screenings, audio from the movies' original soundtrack will not play, but the vocals and dialogue tracks will still be audible.
The "West Side Story" shows will run Sept. 13, 14 and 15 and the "Manhattan" shows will run Sept. 16 and 17. The performances will be held at David Geffen Hall in Lincoln Center.
