Riverside Park Bike Path To Close For At Least 3 Weeks, City Says
Bicyclists will be detoured onto the pedestrian path in Riverside Park between West 59th and 70th streets during construction work.

UPPER WEST SIDE, NY — An 11-block stretch of the Riverside Park bike path will be shut down for at least three weeks starting Thursday, Parks Department officials announced. The bike path will be closed from West 59th to 70th streets to accommodate construction on the park's haul road, according to officials.
Bicyclists will be detoured off the path and onto a pedestrian path between West 59th and 70th streets, parks officials said in a press release. The bike path is expected to reopen on Nov. 24, parks officials said.
While construction is taking place on the park's haul road, Amtrak workers that typically use the road will be given access to the bike path, parks department officials said. Work on the haul road includes fine grading and paving, officials said.
