Riverside Park To Host Free Summer Film Screenings

Take in films such as "Dr. Strangelove," "The Big Lebowski" and "The Truman Show" on a Riverside Park pier this summer.

UPPER WEST SIDE, NY — If you're in need of a midweek kick to get you through the rest of the workweek this summer head to Riverside Park. As part of the Parks Department's "Summer on the Hudson" free film screenings will take place every Wednesday until August 16, according to the department's website.

The film screening series began with a showing of "Blazing Saddles" on July 5 and will feature beloved films such as "Dr. Strangelove" and "The Big Lebowski." All film screenings will be held on Riverside Park's Pier I near West 70th Street and will be free to the public.

Moviegoers are encouraged to "pack a picnic, bring a friend, and settle in for a movie night out on the pier," according to the Parks Department website.
