Teen Pleads Guilty To Robbery In Tessa Majors Death: Report
One of three teens arrested in the fatal mugging of Tessa Majors at Morningside Park pled guilty to robbery Wednesday, according to reports.

UPPER WEST SIDE, MANHATTAN — One of the teens involved in the fatal mugging of Barnard College student Tessa Majors has pleaded guilty to robbery, according to the New York Times.
The 13-year-old, one of three teens arrested in the case, had confessed to taking part in the December attack in Morningside Park, but said he did not lay his hands on Majors or wield the knife that would ultimately kill her, the Times reported.
He had originally been charged with second-degree felony murder, but ultimately pleaded guilty to first-degree robbery under an agreement with prosecutors. The teen was charged as a minor and made the plea in Family Court, according to the Times.

The plea comes after the 13-year-old's originally scheduled April trial was delayed because of the stay-at-home order in the coronavirus pandemic.
The two other teens involved in the case, Luchiano Lewis and Rashaun Weaver, both 14, have been charged as adults with second-degree murder and robbery.

Majors was walking through the park when she was approached by a group of muggers and held up at knifepoint, according to NYPD Chief of Detectives Rodney Harrison.
Weaver is accused of stabbing the 18-year-old while Lewis is said to have helped restrain her, the Times reports.
Majors was able to stagger to a nearby Columbia security booth. The guard stationed at the post called police after noticing she was injured, police and college officials said.
