Upper West Side Streets Left Unmarked After Repaving, Report Says
Pedestrian crossings have been missing from a stretch of West End Avenue for about eight weeks, the West Side Rag first reported.

UPPER WEST SIDE, NY — A number of Upper West Side crosswalks are missing painted markings after the city repaved the streets two months ago, neighborhood blog the West Side Rag first reported.
The markings are missing on the 12-block stretch of West End Avenue between West 60th and 72nd streets, according to the report. Despite complaints from area residents and elected officials, the city has not fully remedied the problem, the West Side Rag reported.
Local City Councilmember Helen Rosenthal told the West Side Rag that her office has been pressuring the city Department of Transportation to finish the project for nearly a month.

"My office has been pushing the Department of Transportation to replace the crosswalks on West End Avenue for almost a month. This is a very serious public safety issue," Rosenthal told the West Side Rag.
