Woman, 60, Mugged In Morningside Heights Building, Police Say

A mugger followed the woman into her Morningside Heights apartment building and attacked her.

MORNINGSIDE HEIGHTS, NY — The NYPD is trying to identify a man who violently mugged a 60-year-old woman in the lobby of her Morningside Heights buidling.

The suspect followed the woman into her West 111 Street and Riverside Drive apartment building on the night of Nov. 23, police said. Once inside, the man grabbed the victim in a chokehold and slammed her against a wall, police said.

The man told the woman he was going to "cut her," during the mugging, police said. The attack was interrupted when another resident of the building entered the hallway, police said.
