Utica FD to receive FEMA training grant (cnyhomepage.com) — Utica firefighters are getting a major boost, with more than $200,000 in FEMA and city-matched funding to expand training and strengthen the department's new Technical Rescue Team. The money will support water and rope rescue skills for Utica's growing waterfront, leadership and instructor courses, and a peer support program to address firefighters' behavioral health needs while maintaining full emergency coverage.
   

2. Woman badly injured in e-bike crash with vehicle in Oneida County (syracuse.com) — Emergency crews responded Wednesday to a serious e-bike and vehicle collision at Oneida and Hobart streets in Utica, leaving a woman hospitalized in critical but stable condition. Police say she likely ran a red light, and note it's the third recent e‑bike or dirt bike crash and the second major incident at this same intersection, prompting renewed safety warnings for local riders.
   

3. Central New York Football Fever: Week 4 2026 Preview, Sept. 24-26 (cnyhomepage.com) — Utica football fans have a busy Week 4, with Utica Notre Dame seeking its first win on the road and Proctor hosting Rome Free Academy in what's billed as New York's oldest rivalry.
