• Asbestos Control & Boiler Safety (ny.gov) — If you live in or around Utica and deal with boilers or asbestos, state safety officials have shared updated contact details and an upcoming October 30 webinar. The Utica District Office on Genesee Street serves Oneida County and much of the region, with a local inspector and phone number residents and businesses can use for boiler safety questions or inspections.
   

• Taylor, Zawolo Run Rampant in Utica's 38-14 Triumph Over RPI, Blaise Faggiano Secures 100th Win as Head Coach (empire8.com) — Utica University's football team moved to 2-0 with a dominant 38-14 road win over RPI, highlighted by huge receiving days from Tyshawn Taylor and Gabriel Zawolo and Blaise Faggiano's 100th career victory. • Mohawk Valley's 9/11 stories. A look at victims, survivors, responders (timestelegram.com) — Utica will mark the 25th anniversary of 9/11 today with a 10 a.m. remembrance and wreath-laying at the 9/11 Memorial on Utica Memorial Parkway, honoring local victims and firefighters who responded to Ground Zero. The story shares personal histories of Utica-area residents lost in the towers, as well as regional ceremonies in Sherrill, Clinton, and Chittenango.
