• New name for Utica Memorial Auditorium (uticaod.com) — Utica's Memorial Auditorium is getting a new name under a 10-year naming-rights deal, becoming the NBT Bank Arena at the Utica Memorial Auditorium. Local and county leaders say the partnership will support upgrades and continued events at this longtime sports and entertainment hub, with new branding and transition details to roll out in the coming weeks.
   

• D.A. Bragg Announces New Sex Trafficking, Narcotics Charges In Upstate Correctional Ring Prosecution (manhattanda.org) — Prosecutors have expanded charges in a major sex trafficking and narcotics case that allegedly operated in Manhattan, the Bronx, and the Rome and Utica areas between late 2025 and August 2026. Authorities say the conspiracies involved trafficking children, smuggling drugs into an upstate prison, and firearms-related crimes, with local law enforcement in Rome thanked for assisting the investigation.
   

• Back to buying mode: Two banks acquire insurance agencies (americanbanker.com) — A regional banking trend story notes that Arrow Financial recently completed its acquisition of Utica-based Adirondack Bank, and may keep expanding in insurance and other financial services. While the focus is on bank-owned insurance agencies nationwide, Utica customers should be aware their former local bank is now part of a larger Glens Falls–based institution pursuing further growth.
