• Pratt Institute and Munson to End 25-Year Partnership in June 2028 (wktv.com) — Pratt Institute and Munson will end their long-running partnership in June 2028, gradually shifting Pratt Munson students out of Utica sooner in their studies. Current and 2026 entrants keep the usual path, but the 2027 class will spend only one year in Utica before moving to Brooklyn. Munson says it's planning a new art and design program to keep strengthening Central New York's creative economy.
   

• Two shot in Utica (newportdispatch.com) — Two men were shot in the leg during a large altercation on Kemble Street in Utica on August 22, and both were taken to Wynn Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Utica police quickly identified and detained a suspect, 33-year-old Wayne Sessoms of Utica, who now faces attempted murder and weapons charges. Investigators from the Major Crimes Unit are continuing to handle the case.
   

• Flock Cameras under scrutiny across Empire State (cnyhomepage.com) — Automated Flock license plate cameras are spreading across New York, with 58 already in the Utica area, raising local privacy concerns. Supporters credit them with helping stop a planned Capitol bombing, while a state lawmaker is pushing a bill to sharply limit how long police can store the captured data and require clearer logs of its use.
