Mohawk Valley remembers 9/11 with host of events (uticaod.com) — Utica will host several 9/11 remembrance events, including a Lunch & Learn at the Irish Cultural Center, a city wreath-laying at the Memorial Parkway, and the CNY Memorial Stair Climb at the State Office Building. Nearby communities like Whitesboro, New York Mills, Rome, and Oneida are also holding ceremonies, marches, and tributes. 'We will come after you': Oneida County seizes 30 packets of suspected K2 (oneidadispatch.com) — County health and sheriff's officials recently seized suspected K2 and other unknown substances during a compliance inspection at Dalaly Deli on Eagle Street in Utica, part of a broader crackdown on synthetic drugs and kratom. Authorities say more Utica businesses could face inspections and potential penalties as they continue enforcing new local laws aimed at keeping dangerous products out of neighborhood stores.
   

3. Man arrested on shooting charges in Utica (newportdispatch.com) — Utica police have arrested 41-year-old Diandre Scott after two August shootings on Eagle Street and St. Vincent Street where shots were allegedly fired near and at two people, damaging a nearby home but injuring no one. Investigators say video and physical evidence tied him to both incidents, leading to multiple attempted assault and weapons charges.
   

4. Times Telegram is changing its print frequency. What does it mean? (uticaod.com) — Print subscribers in our region will soon get the Herkimer Times Telegram only once a week, on Wednesdays, while still receiving the Sunday Utica Observer-Dispatch and full digital access. The paper is shifting resources toward its eNewspaper and website, which remain available every weekday and via mobile app. Subscribers with questions can contact customer service for help navigating the change.
   

5. Mannion addresses Democratic priorities, free and fair elections during telephone town hall (wrvo.org) — During a regional telephone town hall, Rep. John Mannion fielded a question from a Utica caller about Democratic priorities if the party regains control of Congress, stressing health care reform, ending tariffs, and supporting farmers. He also emphasized protecting free and fair elections, encouraging voting, volunteering, and backing local journalism. Other callers raised immigration, the Iran war, and national political issues.
