A beautiful red golden retriever was found on Mermaid Avenue in Wantagh on Friday afternoon.
The residents who found the dog drove around looking for an owner, but couldn't find one. It was taken to the Town of Hempstead Animal Shelter.
The shelter checked and the dog has a micro chip, but the chip was not registered. They will hold the dog while the owner is hopefully found.
