As I sit here in what was once my peaceful quiet home I look out the window as the noisey machinery plows through my beautiful woods. I have been a resident here since the 60's, as a youth I would walk to the woods with friends and wonder in it's beauty. When it was time to purchase my own home I was delighted to buy one directly across from the woods in Old Bethpage. For 13 years I have loved looking out of my big picture window to the permanent master piece of trees foliage and various animals that called this land their home. I don't know who came up with the plan to desiecrate this land but they certainly did not confer with the residents of Old Bethpage. Sadly my view in the coming weeks will be that of a paved road with people biking, walking running and more likely littering. With the limited natural beauty left why would anyone feel that this is something that would enhance our lives, certainly not me.
