Bret Michaels Rocks Mulcahy’s of Wantagh

Rock star plays bar as part of his Roses & Thorns solo tour.

Poison lead singer Bret Michaels rocked Wantagh on Nov. 9, playing a solo show to a crowd of fans at . 

The famed hard rock singer and reality television star made his way to Mulcahy's as part of his Roses & Thorns solo tour. Michaels didn't disappoint his fans that packed the Wantagh venue, dedicating a song to the troops and being especially attentive to the audience. He also had Donald Trump Jr., who made an appearance at the show, join him on stage.

"His performance was awesome, truly entertaining," said concertgoer Christine Knespler. "His interaction with the audience was awesome as usual. He seems like he really tries to make eye contact with as many fans as he can."

Kelly Schember, a self-proclaimed Poison fan since 1986, said that Michaels' Wantagh performance added to the great ones and that the venue helped that along. "[Mulcahy's] is great because it's more intimate," she said. "He played great as usual, although he doesn't have to do much because his fans love him."

Joann DeFilippo said that she tries to see Michaels as often as possible when he is local and said that she appreciates how open the rocker is about his battles and how much he shares with the audience. "Brett seems to always be taking his own experience and reaching out, talking about diabetes and how we can all help to fight the cause," she said. "He mentioned how he is going in for surgery on the 'old ticker' as he put it, in January, but will be touring come the spring/summer with some other popular bands."

For Denise Lindner, Michaels touched her heart in a personal way at the concert.

"I always love when a performer dedicates a song to our troops overseas," she said. "He played 'Something to Believe In' for them and it touched me more this time because my brother is in Afghanistan right now. I loved his dedication to them."
