Long Island Siblings Win Nation's Heart On 'Shark Tank'
The trio won funding and a rare commitment from all five investors for the product their father, who died of 9/11-related cancer, invented.

As of Monday morning, people all over the country are talking about the Cup Board Pro and the three siblings from Wantagh that pitched it on Shark Tank over the weekend.
Christian, Keira and Kaley Young appeared on the show on ABC on Sunday night to help make the dream of their father, Keith Young, come true. Keith was a FDNY firefighter and was well-known in the community as the "firehouse chef." He wrote his own cookbook and appeared twice on "Chopped" and once on "Throwdown with Bobby Flay," where his chicken cacciatore beat the celebrity chef's.
In addition, Keith invented the Cup Board Pro, a cutting board which makes cleaning up while chopping much easier. However, he died from 9/11-related cancer earlier this year just as his first models arrived and before they could be sold.

Out of my entire decade of being on #SharkTank this was the most emotional pitch I have ever been through. It took everything in me not to walk off the set because my emotions ran so crazy because I was there and lost many friends from 9/11.

His children, who also lost their mother to cancer in 2012, appeared on Shark Tank to secure funding to expand their father's business, and keep his dream alive. And in a rare showing, all five Shark -- investors who buy stakes in businesses -- signed on to help the Cup Board Pro.
The five Sharks pledged $20,000 each for a 20 percent stake in the company. In addition to the money, the Young Family will be able to use the various areas of expertise the Sharks have to help their business grow.

And in a showing of compassion, all five sharks pledged to donate any profits they received from their stake in the business to charity to help firefighters battling 9/11-related illnesses.
I always say "don't get emotional about money" but this pitch wasn't about money...OR a cutting board for that matter. These kids are carrying on their father's - a real hero's - legacy. Amazing. #sharktank #cupboardpro https://t.co/jvt807pG75
