Seaford Boys Basketball Five-Game Winning Streak Snapped
Fourth quarter rally sends first place Mineola over Seaford, 54-49.
The Seaford boys basketball team's five-game winning streak was snapped Friday in a close loss at first place Mineola.
Seaford (12-4) led Mineola (11-3) 25-18 at halftime but the Mustangs ended the Vikings' upset bid with a 20-8 run in the fourth quarter en route to a 54-49 win. Seaford had three players in double figures including Peter Adorno (16 points), James Curley (15 points) and Rich DiPuma (13 points).
“It was a close game but we turned the ball over at critical points late in the game,” said longtime Seaford head coach Ralph Rossetti, who picked up his 300th career win on Jan. 15 against Clarke. "I give them credit, they're one of the best teams in the league.”

“We turned it up a notch in the fourth quarter,” said Mineola head coach Jim Heggman. “We made them play at a faster pace which is how we like to play.”
