SEAFORD, NY – Dozens of teachers from Seaford High School – who have not seen their students in person since schools transitioned to remote learning – will parade through town on Friday to give a special hello to their students.

Nearly 50 teachers plan to wave and honk their horns as they pass by Seaford High School students and their families at their homes. The teacher parade will begin at 9 a.m. and is expected to last two hours.

The school has designed a map with special locations where students can gather while maintaining safe social distancing measure in order to see the parade. Those locations include Jerusalem Ave, Washington and Clark Ave., Manor Elementary School, Waverly and Seaford Ave, the Library, and Neptune and Bayview Street.

Last week, New York Governor Andrew Cuomo announced that all New York schools and colleges will remain closed through the end of the academic year. For teachers and school staff members, this means they will not be able to see their students in person again this year and will not get the chance to say goodbye before the summer break.
