Seaford's Newest Teachers Get The Grand Tour
The new educators got a tour of the district and learned the ins and outs of life in Seaford.
New teachers in the Seaford School District had an experience that will help them relate to their students — they rode the yellow school bus.
As part of their introduction to the district, the teachers received a tour Seaford on Aug. 27 led by Assistant Superintendent for Curriculum, Instruction and Personnel John Striffolino. He showed them the schools, parks, library and other notable locations, visited the Seaford Historical Society and asked trivia questions about the community.
The district welcomes 22 new faculty members this year who will teach a variety of subjects and grade levels at the four schools. While some of the new teachers have held different positions, 16 are brand new to the district.

Orientation included a review of safety and security procedures, district policies, support services for students and parent-teacher communication protocols. Teachers also learned about technology systems and resources, and spent time with their building principals. The United Teachers of Seaford provided lunch and an informational session.
“We want our new teachers to get acclimated quickly and have a smooth beginning to the school year,” Striffolino said. “This is a great group with a lot of energy. We are excited to have them join our educational family.”
