The beach was strewn with trash from holiday beachgoers. See the photo that has angered thousands of Long Islanders.

Jones Beach is the most-attended state park in New York, with millions of people visiting the six miles of shoreline each year. But now, many Long Islanders are up in arms about the state of the beach after the Fourth of July.
A picture circulating on Facebook, which was shared more than 10,000 times, shows mounds of trash littering the beach -- mainly cans, cups and other detritus from beach parties.
"Pretty soon they won’t let you bring anything on the beach because of slobs like this," one person said.
