Students Take On Special Electrical Safety Program

SEAFORD, NY — Students from Seaford Harbor Elementary School became "safety sleuths" for completing PSEG Long Island's electrical safety program.

Over the past few months, students from first through fourth grade got a special safety program called "Safety Sleuth."

The lessons in the classrooms led to creating posters on topics showing electrical safety.

The program took place across the island with more than 20 schools participating. with teachers encouraged to submit their favorite posters for inclusion in an online gallery.

"The kids really enjoyed this program. It was so important to talk about these safety rules, as I feel like they are often overlooked nowadays," Harbor Elementary teacher Krista Clark said.

The electrical safety coursework provided age-appropriate lessons, such as staying safe around downed wires outside and electrical outlets indoors.
