Tech With A Programmed Twist At Seaford High School
Two robotics classes are vying over the design of a 'Teacher of the Year' plaque for Seaford High School.

SEAFORD, NY — Ever wonder where those ‘Teacher of the Year’ plaques come from?
Well, at least you will know where some of them come from now as students from Seaford High School’s Robotics Class have designed new plaques for the school’s annual honor, according to a news release from the district. The names of ‘Teacher of Year’ winners are inscribed on a plaque outside of the school’s main office, but it’s nearly full and so the move to create a second one began.
Students from Nick Isgro’s two robotics classes were recently split into two teams and created four separate plaques — using VCarve software to program the cuts and they undertook a test run above the wood to make sure the programming was accurate, the news release stated. The matter will be put to a vote to determine which plaque will be placed outside the main office.
