Wantagh Celebrates Its Outstanding Seniors

The students were recognized for community service, scholarship and much more at the award ceremony.

From Wantagh School District: The Wantagh School District’s top seniors were recognized for their scholarship, community service, overcoming hardships and enthusiasm for extracurricular activities during the annual senior awards ceremony, held in the auditorium on May 22.

During this cherished tradition, more than 100 celebrated students received scholarship money from local community businesses and organizations, as well as special honors from government officials.

Principal Carolyn Breivogel congratulated the students on their work ethic over the past four years and thanked the teachers and parents for their dedication to education. To the students she said, “You always hear me say that your name is your most prized possession, and this evening we will pay tribute to all of your names.”

More than 100 Wantagh High School seniors were recognized for their scholarship, community service, enthusiasm for extracurricular activities and for overcoming hardships during the annual senior awards ceremony.
Twenty-two Wantagh High School students received the President’s Award for Outstanding Educational Achievement during the annual senior awards night.
Wantagh Board of Education President Kera McLoughlin presented senior Michael Hennig with the Paideia Award for leadership, scholarship and service.
Wantagh Superintendent of Schools John C. McNamara presented senior Olivia Zukowski with the Superintendent’s Excelsior Award for Achievement and Dedication during the annual senior awards ceremony.
