Wantagh High School was a sea of orange t-shirts as students hosted Unity Day, a program to raise awareness of the harmful effects of bullying.
Anti-bullying pledge posters hung on the walls of the entranceway, and members of the Miss Wantagh committee urged peers to sign their names, pledging to unite against bullying by speaking up and acting as role models. The goal of the day was also to promote an atmosphere free of judgment and criticism and to voluntarily defend someone being harassed or bullied.
