Wind, Flooding Continue to Target Wantagh-Seaford
Hazardous Weather Outlook in effect until early Wednesday.

The nasty weather is going nowhere fast.
As a nor’easter continues to wallop the region, Nassau County remains under a wind advisory until 7 p.m. Tuesday. Winds may gust up to 50 mph, causing localized power outages and possible damage to holiday decorations, according to the National Weather Service.
A coastal flood statement is also in effect from 9 p.m. Tuesday until 2 a.m. Wednesday for areas along the South Shore of Long Island.

Tides are expected to be 1 and a half to 2 feet above normal during Tuesday night’s high tide, the NWS said. This could cause “minor inundation of less than 1 foot above ground” across the most vulnerable shore roads.

- Wednesday- Rain. High near 42. Wind chill values between 30 and 35. Breezy, with a north wind around 21 mph, with gusts as high as 32 mph. Chance of precipitation is 90%. New precipitation amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch possible.
- Wednesday Night- Rain likely before 9pm, then a chance of rain and snow showers between 9pm and midnight, then a chance of snow showers after midnight. Cloudy, with a low around 33. Wind chill values between 25 and 30. Breezy, with a west wind around 22 mph. Chance of precipitation is 70%. Little or no snow accumulation expected.
- Thursday- A chance of snow showers before noon, then a chance of rain showers. Cloudy, with a high near 42. Breezy, with a west wind 18 to 20 mph. Chance of precipitation is 40%.
