Wantagh's Capobianco Chats With Students About Olympic Success
The silver-winning Olympic diver met with youngsters from Seaford Harbor Elementary School.

SEAFORD, NY — Olympic silver medalist Andrew Capobianco recently gave a virtual chat with students from Seaford Harbor Elementary School in Seaford.
Capobianco, who earned the silver in the men's 3-meter synchronized springboard dive last summer in Tokyo, is originally from neighboring Wantagh.
The diver spoke to third, fourth and fifth graders during a virtual assembly.

For "Pick a Reading Partner Month," Seaford Harbor's theme was Going for the Gold.
Capobianco read "Stone Soup," a book that deals with a community coming together to create a soup, the district wrote.

He also reflected on persistence and keeping a flexible thought process, and how that prepared him for competition.
The students also participated in a Q&A with the star athlete.
Capobianco left Wantagh at age 13 for North Carolina and his burgeoning diving career.
