13 Wi-Fi Kiosks Installed In Washington Heights
Thirteen LinkNYC Wi-Fi towers are now operational along Amsterdam Avenue and Broadway.
WASHINGTON HEIGHTS, NY — The first batch of LinkNYC kiosks — those tall towers providing free Wi-Fi and phone charging around the city — is operational in Washington Heights, according to LinkNYC.
The 13 operational LinkNYC kiosks have been installed on Amsterdam Avenue and Broadway between West 156th and 162nd streets, the company told Patch.

- Amsterdam Avenue between West 156th and 157th streets: East side of Amsterdam.
- Amsterdam Avenue and West 157th Street: Southwest corner.
- Amsterdam Avenue and West 157th Street: Southeast corner.
- Amsterdam Avenue and West 158th Street: Southwest corner.
- Amsterdam Avenue between West 158th and 159th streets: West side of Amsterdam.
- Amsterdam Avenue and West 15t9th Street: Southeast corner.
- Amsterdam Avenue and West 15t9th Street: Southwest corner.
- Amsterdam Avenue between West 160th and 161st streets: East side of Amsterdam.
- Amsterdam Avenue and West 162nd Street: Southwest corner.
- St. Nicholas Avenue and West 162nd Street: South side of T intersection.
- West 158th Street between Broadway and Edward Morgan Place: South side of West 158th Street.
- Broadway and West 156th Street: Southeast corner.
- Broadway and West 161st Street: Northwest corner.

Four more kiosks have been installed in the area but do not have Wi-Fi connection yet, according to LinkNYC. LinkNYC did not say when these kiosks will become operational.
The LinkNYC kiosks have several features other than W-Fi access including USB charging ports, access to city services, access to GPS maps and direction, free nationwide phone calls, emergency services and two display screens for public service announcements and advertisements.
