5K Race To Shut Down Parking, Traffic In Washington Heights
If your car is parked on Fort Washington Avenue, 169th Street, 170th Street or 172nd Street you may have to move it Saturday night.

WASHINGTON HEIGHTS, NY — Traffic and parking will be shut down on Washington Heights roads this weekend to accommodate a 5K road race hosted by the New York Road Runners.
Starting Saturday at 10 p.m. parking on sections of Fort Washington Avenue, West 169th Street, West 170th Street and West 172nd Street will be suspended, according to the 34th NYPD precinct. On Sunday motorists will be barred from driving on Fort Washington Avenue between West 168th and 174th streets from 5 a.m.-2 pm., according to police.
The traffic and parking closures are being enforced for the New York Road Runners' Washington Heights Salsa, Blues, and Shamrocks 5K. Participants in the race will start on Fort Washington Avenue and West 173rd Street and run up the avenue, take a loop through Fort Tryon Park and run down the avenue to a finish line on West 170th Street, according to the New York Road Runners race map.

If your car is parked here you will have to move it by 10 p.m. Saturday:
- Fort Washington Avenue between West 168th and 174th streets.
- West 169th Street between Haven Avenue and Broadway.
- The north side of West 170th Street between Haven Avenue and Broadway.
- The south side of West 172nd Street between Haven and Fort Washington avenues.
- The south side of West 172nd Street between Fort Washington Avenue and Broadway.
Parking service will return to these streets starting at 2 p.m. Sunday, March 5, according to the 34th NYPD precinct.
