Congressman To Host Washington Heights Town Hall Meeting

Congressman Adriano Espaillat will talk about various issues facing the country this weekend in Washington Heights.

WASHINGTON HEIGHTS, NY — Congressman Adriano Espaillat will return to Washington Heights this weekend to host a community town hall on multiple issues facing the national government.

The town hall, called "Health of Our Nation: From National Security to the ACA," will be held Saturday from 1-3 p.m. at 1150 St. Nicholas Avenue near West 168th Street. Community members can get to the town hall by taking the 1, A or C trains to 168th Street.

During the town hall Espaillat will discuss multiple national issues.

"This is an informative policy discussion to address the current state of affairs, covering issues such as the 'Emoluments Clause,' what is it and how it might apply to the President, General Michael Flynn’s resignation, what does this mean for national security community, and the ACA: Repeal or Replace, Status of the Affordable Care Act," read a flyer for the town hall.

Since being elected to Congress Espaillat has hosted frequent town hall-style meetings within the Harlem and Washington Heights communities on how the actions of the Trump administration may effect people in New York City.

Espaillat, who replaced long-time representative Charles Rangel in Congress this year, is the first Dominican-American and first former undocumented immigrant to ever be elected to the Congress. His congressional district, New York's 13th District, spans parts of Harlem, Washington Heights, Inwood and the Bronx.
