WASHINGTON HEIGHTS, NY — A fire broke out on the top floor of an Amsterdam Avenue apartment building Friday afternoon, FDNY officials said.

The fire erupted in the top floor of a six-story building at 1946 Amsterdam Ave., between West 156th and 157th streets, around 1:41 p.m., an FDNY spokesperson said.

There were no injuries as of 2 p.m. and firefighters were still working on the blaze, the spokesperson said.
