Fort Tryon Park Events You Should Know About This Summer

UPPER MANHATTAN, NY — Summer is the season to spend time outdoors and Fort Tryon Park has a collection of events happening over the next few months.
The Upper Manhattan Park will have a major fundraiser party, as well as host weekly activities for people of all ages.

Sunset Yoga
Every Wednesday at 6:45 p.m. through Aug. 31, the Fort Tryon Park Trust is offering free weekly yoga classes taught by local certified instructor Stacy Linden.
The yoga will take place on Abby's Lawn and you should bring water, a mat, and a towel.

Sunrise Tai Chi
Every Wednesday at 6:30 a.m. through Aug. 31, the Fort Tryon Park Trust will host a Tai Chi class.
The classes will take place at Linden Terrace and are open to all ability levels.
Summer Blossoms Jazz & Poetry: July 10
Award-winning poets and the Jazz WaHI quintet will perform music and spoken word from 2 to 4 p.m. on the Fort Tryon Park's Cafe Lawn.
Featured poets will include Jane LeCroy, Christopher Atamian, Lola Koundakijia, Ellen Hagan, and Uptown Stories' students.
The concert will start at 2:30 p.m.
Stan E. Michels Memorial Jazz Concert: August 6
The jazz concert will take place from 1 to 4 p.m. at the Stan Michels Promenade.
Local musicians Marjorie Eliot, Rudel Drears, and their ensemble will be performing at the free concert.

A Toast To Fort Tryon Park Park: July 14
The annual fundraiser for Fort Tryon Park will take place from 6 to 8:30 p.m. and honor the famous Dr. Ruth K. Westheimer, Dr. Daniela Diaz of NY-Presbyterian, and Council Member Carmen De La Rosa.
The event will take place inside the Heather Garden and feature wine, beer, appetizers, and live music.
Tickets cost $85 and all proceeds go toward the upkeep of the Upper Manhattan park.
