Free Legal Services Van Coming to Washington Heights-Inwood Area

Need some free legal advice? A mobile legal center will be parked on front of Community Board 12's district office on October 19.

WASHINGTON HEIGHTS-INWOOD, NY — Residents of Washington Heights and Inwood will be able to receive free legal advice this month thanks to a partnership between Community Board 12 and The New York Legal Assistance Group.

The group will be parking their mobile legal help center in front of the Community Board offices at 530 W. 166th St. from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 19. The help center staff will be able to assist neighborhood residents with a variety of civil legal issues such as identity theft, housing disputes, immigration, divorce and more.

“The Board is pleased to partner with NYLAG to bring necessary legal resources to the community," Community Board 12 Chairman Shah Ally told Patch. "As the Chairman, it is important to me that our residents are connected to resources that help them."
