George Washington Bridge Bus Terminal Public Meeting Canceled Due To Snow

Washington Heights residents eager to ask questions about the $183 million renovation of the GW Bridge Bus Terminal will have to wait.

WASHINGTON HEIGHTS, NY — A town hall meeting to discuss the progress on the long-overdue George Washington Bridge Bus Terminal renovations has been canceled due to the snowstorm currently pummeling New York City, officials announced.

City Councilman Ydanis Rodriguez — who organized the event with State Assembly Member Carmen De La Rosa, State Senator Marisol Alcantara, Manhattan Borough President Gale Brewer and Community Board 12 — announced the meeting's cancelation on Twitter.

Rodriguez did not state when a re-scheduled meeting will be held.

This is the second time a public meeting to discuss the $183 million construction project has been canceled. In December a meeting was organized by Community Board 12 in which neighborhood residents would be able to ask questions of the project's developers — George Washington Bridge Bus Station Development Venture. But that meeting was postponed to give local officials time to tour the construction site.

"The meeting will have more of a meaning after the Board has a chance to see first hand the progress of the project," Community Board 12 Chair Shah Ally told Patch at the time.
