Inwood Food Truck Participates in Campaign to Register New Voters
Patacon Pisao in Inwood registered voters, and served up Venezuelan street food, Wednesday afternoon.
INWOOD, NY — Patrons at an Inwood food truck were served more than just a great meal Wednesday. Along with Venezuelan street eats, Patacon Pisao was dishing out voter registration forms.
The food truck participated in the #NoshTheVote campaign launched by the mayor's office and the Urban Justice Center’s Street Vendor Project in order to help New Yorkers register to vote in the November elections before Friday's deadline. Patacon Pisao was one of 12 food trucks across the city to participate in #NoshTheVote, according to a press release.
"We are fighting for every vote to count," said Mayor Bill de Blasio in a statement. "We’re working with some of NYC's food trucks and street carts to serve up delicious food and voter registration forms. If we want a fairer and better country, we have to make sure every New Yorker who can vote does vote."

On-site volunteers handed out voter registration forms in both English and Spanish from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Patacon Pisao, according to the press release. The food truck is located on West 202nd Street between 9th and 10th avenues.
There are still 2 million unregistered voters in New York City, according to a press release from the mayor's office. If you have not registered to vote and you missed #NoshTheVote, forms can be found online in more than 16 languages.

"Vendors are hard at work every day, in neighborhoods across the city, serving up food to their loyal customers. They are proud to take this one day to help increase voter participation and help Mayor de Blasio #NoshTheVote,” said Sean Basinski, director of the street vendor project of the Urban Justice Center, in a statement.
