Inwood Mugging Sends Man To Hospital, Cops Say

INWOOD, NY — A 24-year-old was rushed to the hospital last month after he was mugged walking down the street in Inwood, cops said.

Police released surveillance video this week of the Jan. 20 mugging, which happened near Seaman Avenue and Isham Street around 7 p.m.

The 24-year-old was walking near the intersection when three men came up and pushed him to the ground, demanding he hand over his property, police said. The three suspects snatched the man's cell phone and wallet and ran away, police said.

The phone and the wallet, which had cash and the man's identification, was worth about $700 combined, police said.

The 24-year-old was brought to Allen Pavilion hospital with a shoulder injury.

Police said the three men are in their late teens to early 20s in age and they were last seen wearing all dark clothing. The surveillance video of them was taken at a McDonald's in Brooklyn.
