Man Attacked With Hammer At Wash Heights Subway Station: NYPD
A man was hit in the back of the head with a hammer while standing in a Washington Heights train station, according to police.

WASHINGTON HEIGHTS, NY — The New York Police Department is looking for a man wanted in connection to a recent hammer attack within a Washington Heights train station.
A 46-year-old man was standing inside the 175th Street "A" train station at 11 a.m. on Sunday when a man ran up behind him and hit him in the head with a hammer, according to police.
The victim fled to the booth clerk window within the station for safety, and the attacker ran out of the station, police said.

The 46-year-old received brief treatment for head pain within the station, but refused further medical attention, according to police.
The seemingly unprovoked hammer attack came three days after a woman was robbed within an Inwood "1" train station in Inwood.

The NYPD released a photo Tuesday of the man they want to speak to in connection to the Washington Heights attack.
