Man Hit And Killed On Roadway In Washington Heights: Police
A 54-year-old man standing on the Harlem River Drive near West 178th Street was hit and killed by a car Monday morning, police said.

WASHINGTON HEIGHTS, NY — A 54-year-old man standing on the Harlem River Drive near West 178th Street was hit and killed by a Mercedes Benz SUV on Monday morning, said the New York Police Department.
The deadly collision happened around 5:06 a.m., police said.
NYPD officers found the man unconscious and unresponsive lying on the roadway with head and body injuries. He was taken to NYC Health & Hospitals/Harlem, where he was pronounced dead, police said.

The Harlem River Drive is a four-mile roadway that goes from 125th Street through Inwood.
After further investigation by the NYPD Highway District's Collision Investigation Squad, it was determined that the 54-year-old was standing on the northbound roadway of the Harlem River Drive in Washington Heights when he was hit by the SUV.

The driver, who wasn't injured, remained at the scene, police said.
There are no arrests and the investigation remains ongoing.
