Man Shot In The Head And Killed In Inwood: Police
A 28-year-old man was arrested and accused of murder in the shooting, according to police.
WASHINGTON HEIGHTS, NY — A man was shot and killed on Saturday in Inwood, according to police.
The victim, a 26-year-old man, was found unresponsive in a courtyard at 105 Post Avenue with a gunshot wound to his head, police said.
He was rushed to Saint Barnabas Hospital, where he was pronounced dead a short time later.

Police said they arrested 28-year-old Bronx resident Rafael Negron at the scene and recovered a gun. Negron is now facing charges of murder and criminal possession of a weapon, according to police.
Todd Spodek, a managing partner at the law firm representing Negron, told Patch that his client acted in self-defense.

"Our initial investigation shows that at all times Mr. Negron was acting in self defense which will ultimately be proven at trial," Spodek said.
The identity of the man who was shot and killed will be released after the family is notified.
