A New York City bus on its way to Washington Heights was left hanging from an overpass after crashing on the Cross Bronx Expressway.
WASHINGTON HEIGHTS, NY — A New York City tandem bus went crashing off an overpass on its way into Washington Heights on Thursday night, leaving its front half hanging over a highway ramp.
The crash took place just after 11 p.m. near an interchange of the Cross Bronx and Major Deegan expressways.
One part of the BX-35 bus — essentially two buses connected by a pivot that allows it to navigate turns — remained on the bridge, with the other half vertical, its smashed front end resting on a ramp connecting the two expressways.
