Over 100 Firefighters Called To Washington Heights Blaze: FDNY
A midday fire broke out on two floors of a residential building in Washington Heights, according to the FDNY.
WASHINGTON HEIGHTS, NY — A fire broke in a Washington Heights building on Thursday afternoon, according to the FDNY.
The blaze ignited at 12:44 p.m. on the 5th floor of a residential building at 853 Riverside Drive, between West 158th and 159th Street, according to the FDNY.
A total of 106 firefighters responded to the flames that reached the 6th floor and caused one resident to get sent to the hospital with injuries, an FDNY spokesperson told Patch.

The fire was under control by 1:29 p.m, according to the FDNY.
The flames come three days after a different fire in a Washington Heights building at 206 Audubon Avenue sent a person to the hospital, and after several months with a seemingly elevated level of Upper Manhattan blazes.
