Parks Department to Host Kids in Motion Festival in Inwood

Get your kids out of the house and to the Anne Loftus Playground for the Parks Department's Kids in Motion Festival.

INWOOD, NY — Summer vacation is almost over, so the New York City Parks Department is encouraging kids to take advantage of their free time and spend it outdoors — sans Pokémon.

The Parks Department will be holding its Kids in Motion Festival in Inwood Thursday at Anne Loftus Playground, which is located in Fort Tyron Park. During the festival, which will from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., kids will be able to partake in games, face painting, arts and crafts and more organized activities, according to a flyer for the event.

"Kids In Motion gets children in NYC 'off the couch' and into playgrounds. By introducing children to physical activity in a fun, non-competitive environment, Kids in Motion can help them be more active through adulthood," reads the Parks Department website.
