Scott Stringer And De La Rosa Endorse Each Other's 2021 Campaigns
Comptroller Stringer endorsed Assembly Member Carmen De La Rosa's city council candidacy to represent Inwood and Washington Heights.

UPPER MANHATTAN, NY — It was a mutual admiration society in Washington Heights Thursday morning as comptroller and mayoral candidate Scott Stringer, and assembly member and city council candidate Carmen De La Rosa endorsed each other's 2021 campaigns.
De La Rosa announced her bid in September for City Council District 10, which includes Inwood, Marble Hill, and Washington Heights. The position is currently held by Council Member Ydanis Rodriguez, whose term ends in 2021.
She has represented the Upper Manhattan community in the Assembly since 2016.

"Assembly Member Carmen De La Rosa is a rising star who has served her neighbors tirelessly up in Albany," Stringer said during the endorsement news conference on Thursday. "As the lead sponsor of the Dream Act, she opened doors to opportunity for thousands of young immigrants across the state who can now access a full education that taps their potential."

“Scott Stringer is no stranger to our communities—he grew up here, listens to the people on the ground, and fights for our priorities.," De La Rosa said. "He’s always believed in bringing progressive change by working with communities from the bottom up."
I am truly honored to receive the endorsement of @CarmenForNYC and thrilled to endorse her for City Council. My mom would be happy to see two children of Washington Heights rise up together to build an equitable, more just and fair city for everyone. pic.twitter.com/VuCWLCh2tL
