United Palace Announces Spring 2017 Event Series
One of Washington Heights' most recognizable institutions will host a weekend events series in May.
WASHINGTON HEIGHTS, NY — Washington Heights residents, mark the weekend of May 6 down on your calendars. That weekend of the neighborhood's most iconic institutions, the United Palace on Broadway and West 175th street, will host a weekend event series designed to "reawaken wonder."
The weekend series will feature programs such as a "behind the curtain" tour of the United Palace, music and dance performances, a screening of "The Sound of Music" and a show tune sing-a-long with a member of the original "Hamilton" cast. "Whether it’s a pre-Mother’s Day treat, date night, or a trip down memory lane to old New York, the United Palace is the place to reawaken your body, soul, and spirit," said a United Palace press release.

- Tickets: $25.
- Soulevate: Music to Reawaken Your Body and Soul
- 6:30 p.m. – Doors open with art gallery, vendors, food and drinks
- 7:30 p.m. – Showtime
- Tickets: FREE, but RSVP
- Performances from: Oshun, Soul Science Lab, Annette Aguilar and StringBeans, Harambee Dance Company
Sunday, May 7:
- Interfaith Inspirational Service
- 12 p.m. and on Live Stream
- "The Sound of Music” and Sing-a-long with Broadway Stars
- 3:30 p.m. Mom & Daughter On Stage Exclusive
- 4:30 p.m. Showtune Sing-a-long with Broadway Stars
- 5:00 p.m. Special Screening of "The Sound of Music"
- Tickets: $10 online/$15 at the door for Adults, $5 online/$10 at the door for children and seniors, $50 for mom and daughter on stage exclusive.
