Wash Heights Residential Building Fire Sends 1 To Hospital: FDNY

Flames broke out Monday afternoon in a residential Washington Heights building that needed 60 firefighters to put out, said the FDNY.

WASHINGTON HEIGHTS, NY — A fire broke out in a Washinton Heights building on Monday afternoon, sending one person to the hospital and causing 60 firefighters to respond, according to the FDNY.

The blaze ignited at 4:26 p.m. in a six-floor building at 206 Audubon Avenue, between West 175th and 176th Street, according to the FDNY.

The FDNY did not specify to Patch how the fire started or where the flames spread within the building.
