Washington Heights Daycare Closes Abruptly Giving Parents Short Notice for Backup Plans
Isabella Child Care alerted parents it would close just months prior to the start of the fall program.
WASHINGTON HEIGHTS, NY — A Washington Heights daycare program will be closing after 25 years, leaving many parents worried about finding a replacement, DNAinfo reported.
The Isabella Child Care program, located inside the Isabella Geriatric Center, emailed families in June to alert them of the center's closing on August 11, DNAinfo reported.
“After 25 years, they gave us 8-weeks notice,” Kate Lyons, who sends her 2-year-old to the daycare, told DNAinfo reporter Carolina Pichardo. “You didn’t ask for donations, to raise tuition… You didn’t ask us if there was anything we can do to keep this daycare open?”
